Support for new public companies after IPO

The operations of a public company are different from those of a private company. A key element of market regulation is the information provided to investors (for example, the frequency of financial information and reporting by the company) and the information they present to major shareholders.

According to the requirements of the stock exchanges, companies whose shares are listed on the exchange must make timely statements regarding information or major decisions that may affect the price of the shares.

The first most important steps

  • You need to understand which exchange is right for your company and what regulatory requirements you will have to comply with, as well as what market practices you will have to follow;
  • You need to form a working group of consultants and clearly formulate your expectations for the results of their work;
  • You need to agree with all consultants on a reasonable timeframe for the offering;
  • You need to develop a clear plan for presenting information on the history of your company – if your company’s financial information is complicated due to a reorganization, separation of previously combined operations or changes in accounting policies, you will need to develop a plan for a clear solution to these issues;
  • You need to appoint a project manager: you may need additional qualified and experienced specialists, as well as resources to manage the transaction project, since you will not be able to allocate your own resources to such an extent throughout the process, and the management will not have as much time as is required for the implementation of such a project.
